Most mornings, you will find Rich and I on property working alongside our staff and visiting with guests. It’s our favorite part of what we do. One such morning I was talking with a long time guest and he said to me, “This is the happiest place I’ve ever stayed!” I responded with, “Short of being Disneyland, I’ll take that compliment!” This conversation brings joy to my heart every time I think about it because hearing him say that means we are accomplishing our mission.

You see, we are not just in the motel business, we are in the people business. You matter! We are grateful for you!

Shady Acre has been in business for 30 years now. To this day, many of our long time guests still ask us about our former staff members who have moved on. Former staff like Laura, Teresa, Cathy, Dew and Christina have made lasting impressions on many of us. We intentionally select our staff based on their character, competency and chemistry. We recognize that we are stronger and can accomplish more as a team than as individuals.
