The Travel Happy Companion

To Review or not to Review?

The Shady Acre Motel is known for it’s reviews. The number one comment we hear is “We read your reviews online and just had to come stay with you.” Our staff works hard to ensure every guest has the best service, the cleanest rooms and a carefree vacation. We read and respond to every single review. They are taken seriously and are devastated if we miss the mark.  Even 15- 20 years ago, reviews were not a thing. Now they are a fact of doing business in pretty much every industry. Love them or hate them, they are here to stay.

Talk first – Review second rule

The most important thing every business owner would like you to know is this. If your expectations are not being met, please, please talk to us. We care and want your direct feedback. We welcome the chance to take action and correct the issue. We see every problem as an opportunity for us to exceed your expectations. Mistakes are made, equipment breaks down, sometimes things don’t work like they should. The only way we are made aware is if you tell us! It’s heartbreaking for us to read a review about a missed expectation, when we were never given the opportunity to make it right.

On this May 3rd, TripAdvisor is calling attention to “Write a Review Day.”  I wanted to take the opportunity to thank you for the hundreds of wonderful reviews we have received over the last few years. We are forever grateful and we send the love right back to you.
